I bear witness to everyone hearing the words of the prophecy of this book, if anyone will add to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book, and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part from the tree of life, and out of the holy city, that are written in this book.—Revelation 22:18
On September 30, 1952, the National Council of Churches in the USA made a fateful perhaps even fatal decision. That was when they replaced the American Standard Version of the Bible with the Revised Standard Version. They owned the copyright of the American Standard Version. Their Revised Standard Version was different in one outstanding way. They had removed the Divine name from their new Bible in the almost 7000 places where God had caused it to be recorded in the original Divinely inspired text of the Bible.
Only a little over fifty years before, the American Standard Version had been published. It was the work of thirty of the finest religious scholars in the United States. They represented the major American religious denominations, and had unanimously restored the Divine name in all the places in the Bible God had inspired it to be written.
After the Divine name was restored to God's Word in 1901, America became the richest and most powerful nation on Earth. Within a year after the Churches removed God's name from God's Word, things began to go bad. America signed the armistice in Korea. America, the country that had conquered the most powerful dictators on Earth, was unable to oust the tin-pot dictator of a small country in Southeast Asia. Is there a connection between the American Churches ousting God's name from his Word and America's shocking decline over the last sixty years? We do not know, but we most certainly can wonder if there could be.
My God will reject them, for they have not listened to him.—Hosea 9:17
